Supplied to Balfour Beatty in January 2014, this 2000mm diameter Eclipse star disk was one of the first we produced in ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel). The feature above a birthing pool at the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, has 300 stars and rim lighting provided by colour-changing LED tape positioned just in from the upper edge.
A clear acrylic upstand seals the disk to the ceiling for easy cleaning and infection control but allows the light from the LED tape to shine through.
The photo has been sitting overlooked in a projects folder until we came across it in January 2018.
We’re making increasing numbers of panels in ACP, marketed in various shapes and sizes as our Eclipse, Corona, Galaxy and Aurora products. Their wipe-clean powder-coated paint finish makes them suitable for humid environments where our fabric-faced Infinity panels would not be appropriate.
